Recycling - it aint as difficult as you think

The three R's: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

The national movement toward residential and commercial recycling is an effort to protect our environment and prevent having a landfill in your neighborhood or backyard. As more and more throw away products are purchased and those not recycled eventually will be buried in a landfill somewhere close to populated areas to save on fuel in transporting what most could have been recycled and saved from a landfill.

Though Macon County does not have a recycling effort or program those of us who want to do our part can use the City of Auburn's Recycling Center on Donahue Avenue. The owner of Green Grease, a company based in Atlanta, told me he intends to open and manage a recycling business in Tuskegee. I hope for our environment it is sooner than later. I also met a Tuskegee University student more driven on recycling than I: it was a pleasure and refreshing speaking with her. So there is community interest. All is needed is a convenient means to drop off our recyclables.

You ask what is recyclable.
